Twenty years ago this July, Youth Crime Watch of America was incorporated to bring the benefits of our practical model to the entire country. Only a few at that time understood the power of the Youth Crime Watch philosophy and vision.

Today our record is one that would astonish any doubters of that time. The record shows a reach to more than 40 states of the USA and to another 12 nations where Youth Crime Watch affiliates are quite active. Literally hundreds of thousands of youth have been Youth Crime Watchers, millions have been impacted, we know that lives have been saved, and YCWA has been recognized in one form or another by the US Congress and three Presidents. And the best is yet to come.

Bid at our silent auction - at the party October 20th.YOU have made these and many more accomplishments possible, by your ideas, your financial sacrifices, your direct service to youth, and your continuous loyalty and commitment. In the toughest of days for the organization, and there have been many, it was your belief in Youth Crime Watch and the people who make it up, and conversely our faith in leaders like you, who have made today's reality possible.

Yes, it is time to celebrate the accomplishments and to honor the people who built Youth Crime Watch of America, and to mark this year as one that attracts the ideas that help to propel yet another fruitful 20 years. In South Florida, where it all began, we are going to take one special night, October 20, to bring back the memories, to give thanks, and to share the excitement of our future. In the truly beautiful setting of Parrot Jungle Island, we intend to have back crime watchers from the entire 20 years, to showcase our record of accomplishments, to honor the builders, and to just have fun (because Youth Crime Watch has shown you can have fun while doing good).

We very much would like you to be there. Commit personally (one ticket is $95) and if at all possible by become a sponsor (ranging from $500 to $2,500), convene a table of guests at $1,000 per table (including sponsoring our current wave of Youth Crime Watchers), and/or help in other ways such as suggesting persons to be remembered, providing silent auction items, working on our YCW history, by suggesting or bringing forward businesses who will sponsor school alumni/current member delegations, or by helping directly to plan or execute this celebration and reunion.

It's a fact of life - we do not take the time to celebrate what we have worked so hard to accomplish. Youth Crime Watch has played a significant role in your life. All who come on October 20 will be honoring and thanking those who have made the lives of our youth better through YCW. We are looking forward to seeing you there. And, by the way, please don't hesitate to give us your ideas as to how to make this the best event ever.
