Iasi, Romania - Tineri Impotriva Delincventei (TID), the Romanian adaptation of the Youth Crime Watch program held its first awards ceremony to recognize oustanding school programs and volunteers.
Local students and authorities gathered for a fun-filled event in a rented discotech. Dancing and dramatic presentations filled out the awards program. We wish our colleagues in Romania much success in their first year of the program and congratulate them on a promising start.
3/2003: Program launches in Romania with 12 schools

March 30, 2003, Iasi, Romania - Tineri Impotriva Delincventei (TID), the Romanian adaptation of the Youth Crime Watch program was officially launched in six schools in this mountainous eastern European country. Once the word was out, six more schools immediately signed on, making a running total of twelve!
Present at the official launch of the program in the northwestern city of Iasi wereofficials from the Romanian Justice Department, the District Attorney's Office, Education Department, students, teachers, and, of course, representatives of the media.
We wish our colleagues in Romania much success in their first year of the program and congratulate them on a promising start.
