Be an Ambassador

Conference Ambassadors are young people ages 14 to 22 selected to serve as youth leaders during the National Youth Crime Prevention Conference. As Conference Ambassadors, youth take on the roles of presenters, facilitators, and advocates for the concerns and recommended solutions of the conference youth participants. Conference Ambassadors are vital to the success of the youth conference. Conference Ambassadors help to focus the ideas of hundreds of youth and develop recommendations to be presented to local, state, and federal government officials.

Conference Ambassadors' overall responsibilities:

  • Collecting and Collating Information - Ambassadors will be gathering recommendations and solutions developed by conference participants, then compiling the information into a final report.
  • Presenting - Ambassadors may be asked to make presentations during the conference.
  • Facilitating - Ambassadors will be leading small group discussions to generate recommendations and solutions developed by conference participants.
  • Motivating - Ambassadors will serve as conference "cheerleaders" by encouraging their peers to attend workshops and special events, and to participate fully in the conference agenda.
  • Marketing the Conference - Ambassadors will talk with their community, their schools, and community and state leaders to encourage conference attendance and participation or support.
